“Mister” Zarqawi

Two USAF F-16’s “engaged” Abu Musab al-Zarqawi with a 500 lb. bomb. It reflects that the New York Times is a first-rate publication in its practice of referring to as “Mr.” and “Ms.” The people who are the subjects of articles. But do Saddam Hussein and Abu Musab al-Zarqawi really deserve to be accorded that respect?

  • i say yes. he had severely depraved morals and ideas how how to elicit global change, but somewhere, he is being mourned on an intimate, personal level - certainly on a more global iconic level - but he was someone's husband and someone's father.

i do question the use of the word "engagement" with a 500 lb bomb, however.

  • Was wondering if Bush deserves the Mister before his name.
