Matthew's Foray into Blogging

I am traveling to Mason, Texas this weekend. I am looking forward to visiting this quaint, historic town. I would much prefer to have a three- or even four-day weekend, though. I like to take it easy on the weekends. Driving five hundred-plus miles roundtrip, and staying in unfamiliar accommodations, does not make for the most relaxing weekend, for me. Well, I can just look forward to the next weekend.

  • Have a good trip! Don't forget to send a postcard ;-)

  • You have not lived until you have seen the Mason Cowpunchers play in their football stadium. Which, suffice to say, is a converted rodeo areana that roughly holds 200 people. If you get in friday night check to see if they are playing....that's where the whole town will be anyway.

  • I had to go to Waxahachie last week for work. Visiting small town Texas isn't exactly a holiday in the making.

  • I've not been to Mason, though I have driven through Eden, Menard, Junction, and Sonora on several occasions, stemming from my time at Goodfellow AFB in San Angelo.

If I have to go to another smallish town in West Texas, I think I'll make it Fredricksburg.
